I tried this set up as a pastel and then did it in oil.

I tried a simple pastel painting. The thought of not having to clean up was appealing.
There are some good tutorials on YouTube that helped.

Metal Cup

Some health issues  kept me away from painting for a while. Things are better now and I chose this cup as my first return subject. I've used it in many paintings and sketches and it still appeals to me.
It's great to be painting again.

Yellow Teapot

This teapot has been in the family for as long as I can remember. It was usually put into service on cold winter evenings in front of the TV.
It makes a good cup of tea, but it's especially distinguished by the melody played by the built-in music box that's activated when the teapot is tilted during pouring.
We could never make out the melody, but assumed that it must be Tea for Two.

Another $.99 acquisition from the Salvation Army Thrift store here in Hamilton, NJ.

Green Vase

I got this vase in the Salvation Army thrift shop here in Hamilton for $.99.
So many good subjects there.
This one appealed to me because of its surface and colors.

It was a difficult subject because of the colors, but I stayed with it and finally got what I was looking for.

Apple with ceramic bowl

I got this bowl at a thrift shop several months ago.
I love its colors and shape.

This started out with just the bowl, but it seemed to need something so I added the apple.

Lenox china has its roots here in Trenton, NJ and makes some of the world's finest china.

I especially liked the bowls in a Lenox set I bought a few years ago.
I've been looking for something that I could combine with a bowl for a set up and these beautiful macs appeared.
