I mixed in a pear to add some variety to the apples. Apples are still my favorite subjects and they made for nice snacks when the painting is finished.

When a painting takes as long as this one, fruit subjects don't work

I found this jug and the metal bowl at a thrift store and the grapes are from memory

I found this bowl in a thrift shop and was determined to find a role for it in one of my paintings, so I added some trusty apples.

The grannies were a challenge, almost monochrome at first sight.
